The Group-Analytic Practice has provided consultation for the whole range of psychological and psychiatric disorder for more than half a century. We have a unique mix of medical and non medical practitioners, all of whom are leaders in their field.
Medico-legal services have been offered throughout the life of the practice. We believe these services would be better delivered by acting as an active and cohesive group within the practice and are launching a “Medico-legal Group” which will provide:
A speedy response to initial contact, including discussion of a case, with no charge.
Medical and psychiatric reports in the specialist areas cited below.
Quality assurance, based on our reputation and our mutually supportive group providing internal consultation.
A range of clinicians from which the most relevant specialist to target a case can be selected.
We have expert knowledge in the following fields.
Assessment of children and adolescents in custody and other family disputes.
Compensation claims.
Child abuse cases.
Critical incident analysis.
Forensic issues: fitness to plead, responsibility, motivation; treatment options.
Individual and corporate stress.
Malpractice cases.
Matrimonial conflict: for court reports, mediation or marital therapy.
Occupational Health.
Personality disorder including alcohol and other substance abuse.
Psychosexual disorder including issues re. gender.
Serious mental illness and the law.
Trauma, injury and post traumatic disorders.
We are pleased to accept instruction for medico-legal reporting, on a one-off basis, in any of these specialist fields. Our intention is to develop relationships with firms of solicitors whose reporting requirements will extend to the thorough discussion of cases in which consultation and feedback will be the norm.
