Cults – The Freedom of the Cage?
Exploring the Mental Health Implications of Profound Belief Systems
New religious movements offer their members an intense form of belief and belonging. These movements tend to arouse feelings which are often based on prejudice.
Professor Eileen Barker OBE of the LSE, who has pioneered work in disseminating accurate information on these groups, will introduce the subject. A member and an ex-member of such a movement will add their perspectives and Dr Morris Nitsun of G.A.P. will present views from an analytical perspective.
