• Not everybody is ready to join a therapy group. The outcome of a consultation may be a decision that the patient requires or strongly desires a period of individual therapy. We can usually treat such a person within the practice or make a referral to a specialist colleague.
• Individual forms of treatment are available in the Group-Analytic Practice whose members are trained to do this work, and recognised by professional bodies, such as the British Psychoanalytical Society, the Society of Analytical Psychologists and the British Association of Psychotherapists as well as the Institute of Group-Analysis.
• A flexible approach is embraced by all practitioners, who have between them wide experience. Individual forms of therapy may be considered helpful in many life situations, either as a treatment of choice, or preparatory to entering a group, or in specific situations conjointly with group analysis.
