Dr. Lionel C Kreeger

Dr. Lionel Kreeger is a founder member Institute of Group Analysis, Associate Member British Psychoanalytical Society.    He qualified in medicine at Guy's Hospital in 1949, and did   house jobs and registraships in general medicine and neurology.
He did his National Service RAMC for two years in 1950 and entered psychiatry in 1957.  
He worked at Shenley, Westminster Hospital, and was appointed consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist at   Halliwick Hospital in 1965 where he worked closely with Pat de Mare to establish a therapeutic community culture employing small and large groups.  
He moved to the Paddington Centre for Psychotherapy in 1973, and in 1978 to the Tavistock Clinic as consultant psychotherapist.
He joined the Group Analytic Practice initially as an Associate Member in 1967, becoming a Member of Management in 1972.
He qualified as a Freudian psychoanalyst in 1969 of the Independent School having had some Kleinian experience prior to that training.
He has also spent two years in a once a week group with S H Foulkes.  
He has written on group psychotherapy, particularly on the large group and envy pre-emption.
Associate Member British Psychoanalytic Society, Founder Member Institute of Group Analysis.
Psychiatrist, Psychoanalyst, Group analyst with main focus on twice-weekly analytic groups.
Additional interests in large groups and the dynamics of envy.
Joined the Group-Analytic Practice in 1967, becoming a full Member of Management in 1972.
